Revelation 12:1- talks about the Woman clothed with the sun. Our early Church fathers considered the ‘Woman’ as 3 symbolisms for: Israel, the Church, and Our Blessed Mother. But Catholics in span of centuries have considered that the literal translation of the verses best explains who the ‘Woman’ is, which when you analyze is with most certainty, Mary. Let’s recall the verses:
“A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth. Then another sign appeared in the sky; it was a huge red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on its heads were seven diadems. Its tail swept away a third of the stars in the sky and hurled them down to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman about to give birth, to devour her child when she gave birth. She gave birth to a son, a male child, destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod. Her child was caught up to God and his throne. The woman herself fled into the desert where she had a place prepared by God, that there she might be taken care of for twelve hundred and sixty days.”
The Woman is Mary, who gives birth to the Child, Jesus. Remember that as she gives birth, she ‘wailed aloud in pain as she labored’ does not refer to physical pain, since she’s the Immaculate Conception, and therefore, she never feels pain, or is exempted from having pain during child birth that all of the pregnant go through while giving birth to Jesus. This refers to the pains and sufferings during the Crucifixion of Jesus.
Satan is the Dragon. Because of the main sin he feels the most, Pride, he can’t accept that Jesus will take the form of a lesser being, as a human, to live on earth. His pride can’t fathom why Jesus won’t take a higher being like him, an angel. Satan wants to chase after the Virgin Mary and her Child Jesus, and kill them. But God gives her wings to fly and keeps them safe. Satan became unsuccessful of his evil plan, so out of his frustration and desperation, he goes after to the next best after Jesus, who are none other than ALL OF US, the people, who are all the spiritual children of Mary – tempting them to sin, so that he can take the souls of those who fall into his traps, become sinful, bad, worthy of eternal damnation, with him to hell. The Scriptures proves this:
“Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels battled against the dragon. The dragon and its angels fought back, but they did not prevail and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. The huge dragon, the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, who deceived the whole world, was thrown down to earth, and its angels were thrown down with it.”
The Devil, or Satan, broke out a war against God for their hatred of God because of what happened. He’s envious, jealous, and eaten by his pride. Archangel Michael and his angels battled against Satan and his minions, or the other fallen angels, and became demons. They are thrown down in hell, but at the same time, they are also present here on earth, and locked up here until the Second Coming of Our Lord Jesus, or the Final Judgment. Once the Final Judgment is over, Satan and the demons are going to be damned in hell for all eternity. But since they are here on earth, while they still have time to spread evilness in the world by sins and temptation, they want to collect as many souls of people to take them to hell with demons when these people die someday. Apparently, with all of the sins and evil things that happen in our world these days, they have been very successful.
Satan also can’t swallow his pride because he is completely aware that a human, and worst, a woman would be crushing his head when the Final Judgment is over – for her role as the Mother of God and the new Eve. (“I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; They will strike at your head, while you strike at their heel.” – Genesis 3:15)
My brothers and sisters in Christ, let us also must be wary of the other ‘Christian’ sects and Protestants religions. Satan has a grudge on the Mother of God. To hurt us, her spiritual children, is to hurt her. One way he could go after us her spiritual children would be talking us from the One True Religion – the Catholic Church. If we don’t receive the Sacraments and graces, like receiving Jesus in the Eucharist constantly, we would never be able to get to Heaven. These false religions don’t have the Sacraments. Here’s a test to check if a religion or sect is evil – they don’t give any importance and respect to the Mother of God. You are sure that a religion is not of God when it removes Our Blessed Mother from giving importance. And only Catholics give important and honor to the Virgin Mother of God. This then means that all the Born Again and Protestants religions are not of God. Satan made and influences these religions to remove the Mother of God in the life of the people for his revenge against her. He wants to deceive us and take us away from our Catholic Church. Without our Catholic Church, it would be impossible for us to receive the Sacraments and necessary graces that would entitle us to get to Heaven when we die.
The war by the Devil and his fallen ones, to this very moment, is on-going. And we must pray to Our Mother Mary to help us. She can’t say ’No’ to her spiritual children. We can see that the Blessed Virgin is a key figure; very important to the whole Salvation History of humanity.
