This month is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is also the month that celebrates the Immaculate Heart of Mary. As their feast days are on this month, June is therefore considered as a month of love. God is love, and the Sacred Heart of Jesus manifests the love of God for men, present in all the Blessed Sacrament on earth. Last Friday, my family and I went to First Friday Mass, where these are especially remembered on that day. It’s always a blessing to be able to participate in my beloved Parish’s First Friday monthly devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, veneration and exposure of the Blessed Sacrament, and other prayer activities. We’re glad we made it there, especially this month of the Sacred Heart.
We know that June is also a month of weddings. Though the origin of the such tradition, which the ancient Romans started, is not religious, God, as always, gives something a spiritual significance because we know that through weddings in the Sacrament of Matrimony, new life springs forth from husband and wife as helpers of God in His Creation. The family created by marriage is a reflection of the Holy Trinity, which also has its feast day this June. The Most Holy Trinity Sunday is one of the three Solemnity Sundays this month, the other two being Pentecost Sunday and the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ or Corpus Christi Sunday.
Another reason why June is a month of love is that the Martyrs of the Church are also commemorated on their feast days this month, including Saints Peter and Paul. While it is the start of the longest of the liturgical seasons, the Ordinary Time, with green as the liturgical color, there are a number of times this month that the Church wears red as vest, to honor the Martyrs, who showed the highest form of the love for God, and the ultimate witness to the Catholic faith. “No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13) The second century Father Tertullian wrote that “the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church,” because the Martyrs willed it to sacrifice their lives, that leads to the conversion of others.
One of the Patronesses of this website, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, also celebrates her feast day this June.
Saint John the Baptist, known as “the voice crying in the wilderness,” who is just like you and I as we proclaim and defend the Catholic faith, also has his feast day this June.

Wow, it’s now halfway through the year… I’d like to thank the people who’ve sent me personal messages, questions and comments, both in my email and in Facebook. The year started out busy for me, and it’s only recently that I’m able to balance things a bit better. I’m sorry that I haven’t replied to all, but I’ll try to as soon. Your words are valuable; you all inspire me more to continue and improve this humble work. I reflect on your appreciation and sometimes it’s wonderful how God lets us feel His love through other people’s kindness. I’m praying for you. With much gratitude, please include me in your prayers, for my health and healing.
Saints and Martyrs of the Church, pray for us!
St. Joseph, pray for us!
Mama Mary, pray for us!
Amen.
